Join our dynamic and innovative team at Cellectric Biosciences in Vienna, Austria! We are currently seeking a talented R&D scientist to fill a full-time position for immediate employment. As a contributor to our innovative projects, you will be instrumental in improving our fluidic device for E-field-based lysis and electrodynamic cell manipulation. Leveraging your expertise in biological membranes and bioelectricity, you will contribute significantly to the improvement of our system. Additionally, utilizing your biological toolkit and techniques, you will be responsible for fine-tuning various biofluids to explore and evaluate opportunities for diversifying our product portfolio.

Your tasks

  • Work collaboratively with our R&D team to strategically optimise our fluidic device for E-field selective lysis by bringing your expertise in biological system membranes and/or bioelectricity.
  • Elucidate and select relevant biological parameters that play a crucial role in E-field based lysis specificity and apply them to enhance the selectivity of our system. 
  • Develop project-specific experimental strategies, techniques, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of innovative strategies to improve product performance.
  • Contribute to the diversification of our product portfolio.


  • A degree in Biology, Biophysics, Electrochemistry, Chromatography, or a related field, with a focus on cell membranes and/or bioelectricity.
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture.
  • Passionate about collaborating on the development of medical devices that leverage the intrinsic electrical properties of biological systems. 
  • Critical and creative thinking with an ability to formulate scientific questions, design strategies, and implement plans effectively.
  • Excellent communications skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of biological membranes, including functions and interactions with ability to apply them in research and development contexts.
  • Previous experience in analysing and manipulating membrane chemistry for various applications.
  • Proficient in electroporation techniques and their application in molecular biology and biotechnology.
